TOPIC: Gazing into the Crystal Ball: The Outlook for Local Business and Media in 2009
The stock market is down. Unemployment is up. Retailers are slashing prices right and left or, worse yet, closing their doors. It seems as if everyone, from automakers to major cities, is looking to Washington for a bailout.
But what is the economic outlook closer to home? And will the dire predictions for the future of mainstream media come true? More importantly, how will the economic climate in North Texas and changes in the media world affect public relations practitioners? Find out when Mitchell Schnurman, Business columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, looks into his crystal ball and shares his predictions for local business, from both a media and PR viewpoint. Start the New Year off right and join us for a look into the future at the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of PRSA monthly luncheon Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Petroleum Club.
When: Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM

A thank you letter from Linda Jacobson, APR
Dear friends,
Words cannot express how much I appreciate the honor of being one of the first recipients of the Jim Blackmore, APR Memorial Scholarship Award. I am truly humbled. I understand that Mr. Blackmore was a pioneer leader in the Greater Fort Worth chapter with a special affinity for furthering the professionalism of public relations. I will certainly do everything I can to uphold that legacy.
Achieving accreditation status has been a long-term goal of mine. I hope this encourages others to engage in the process.
Thank you again.
Best regards,
Linda Ld Jacobson, APR
